I received my new Acer Aspire One Onyx Black from Amazon/ANTOnline today. This thing is sweeeet. Slim, compact, fits easily in my backpack (smaller than average textbook). Boots up quickly, windows XP runs smoothly. Installed Office 2007 without any issues. WiFi connected to my network quickly, recognized my network printers and drives without any issues. 6 cell battery sticks out a little at the back but matches well with the body. The display rests on the extention of the 6 cell battery and prevents it to fall back. Keyboard and the touchpad is going to require a little getting used to. Excellent value for the price. Well done acer for raising the Bar of netbooks for others not only in quality but also on the price. Other netbooks in the market range from $500 (asus) to $1800 (apple, HP). Most of the software installed are trial versions. I uninstalled almost everything, including google desktop and toolbar. Mcafee comes free for a while but removed that too and installed Norton

The Epson Workforce 600 is yet another WiFi-enabled all-in-one printer in a market that is literally overflowing with them. Every major manufacturer has one out these days, but this particular printer does enough to set itself apart from the pack by it's excellent print quality and blinding speeds.
Testbed:
MscBook Pro, OS X 10.5.5
MacBook Pro, Windows XP Pro
On opening the box, you're presented with packaging, manuals and a driver CD, typical of all-in-ones. The printer parts are held into place very securely with blue tape to make sure the cartridge holders etc aren't bouncing around during shipping. Installation of drivers is very simple on either the Mac side or the Windows side.
Once the drivers are installed, you have access to the usual array of driver utilities including nozzle cleaners, printing of test pages, ink levels etc.
The front of the printer has an excellent LCD screen where you can set up various functions of the printer, including making copies without actually

(This review is for the 6-cell onyx/black version.) As is the case with most who purchase this system, I'm not interested in doing anything requiring a lot of raw power: I bought it because its portability means I can easily cart it to class or the library. It's smaller - though slightly more heavy - than my average textbook, so I simply throw it in my bag and bring it along.
The battery life on the 6-cell is exceptional, making it ideal for students or travelers who don't have ready-made access to outlets. This is the obvious selling point of the model over its predecessor 3-cell sister (which my father owns), so I'd recommend that the buyer consider whether or not the extra battery life is needed.
I'm truly impressed with how the system performs. I expected a lot of down time booting and executing programs, but this hasn't been my experience. After tweaking MSCONFIG's startup options, I'm ready to go in under a minute. For reduction in time here, I'd also recommend scrapping the preinstalled

I've spent 30 some years traveling for a living and also just for fun! Always took a laptop along for biz, and occasionally took a small Winbook on personal trips. I found the Acer Aspire One while looking for something else. My unit has the 3 cell battery which will only go approx 2 hours at best. But for travel it's great! It's light, sturdy and the XP software is faster than Vista. Startup time is just about a minute! I can't say enough good things about this unit. Be prepared to buy a portable cd/dvd for down loadning movies, programs etc... I recently found a very compact Sony drive for $100. In this case my total expenditure was $450 for both.
If your looking for a unit to take along on trips - this is it! No need to spend $800 to $1000 for HP or others - this one fills the bill!

I chose the Acer Aspire One over the Asus 900 thanks to the reviews here on Amazon. By the time I was ready to buy, the price had dropped to $329, which sealed the deal.
It works perfectly right out of the box. I researched Linux online to help with some instruction, as there is little that comes with the unit. This uses Linux Linpus, designed especially for small notebooks. The Linux universe is still a mystery to me, but nothing too scary.
Lots of online help available.
The unit itself feels solid and is very nice looking. I'd call it pearl white. Touchpad is not great, so we got an optical mouse. Does wireless perfectly. Battery life is not great, as noted here many times over. Startup is very quick.
Of course Games are important to us, and though it does not have the familiar Windows solitaire and freecell, there are equally entertaining and addicting time wasters included. I could install XP, but look forward to figuring out Linux. Why try to make this something it is not? It is

After years spending my money on powerful, and yet, heavy laptops, I figured out that I don't really need a Dual 2 core 2.3 Ghz, 4Ghz ram. I just need something really portable and lightweight (I'm 5feet, not a strong woman though)
This minibook gorgeous at the look, and pretty good at performance with a high capacity hard drive. It can handle very well daily tasks such as surfing the internet, Office tasks and somewhat good on multitasks if you don't try to abuse it too much. I leave all heavy tasks for my desktop or my other company laptop. And this a real first "laptop" of mine, since all others are too heavy, or too hot to put them on me. This one is quite cool compare to Vaio 13"
I bought a 1Gb memmory to upgrade it later, since I'm still very undecided about upgrading it. I don't want to void my warranty that soon.
The only thing I don't like it is - The Fn key is at the Ctrl key, and the Ctrl moved inside.
All in all, I highly recommend this minibook.

Overall I'm impressed with the Acer One (linux version). I bought two from the retailer B&H photo - one for myself and one for a techno-phobe. My intention is to use the Aspire as a travel computer - which it seems perfectly up to the task to do. After reading many reviews online for similar computers (Asus, etc) the Acer seemed to receive the best overall reviews.
So - I opened my two new aspires - and fresh from the box one of them didn't work at all. It would start to boot up and then shut itself off. Unfortunately B&H has a no-return policy on computers so I had to call up Acer directly.
First off - their customer service was extremely rude. I asked if it was possible to get a replacement as the computer was fresh from the box. Their policy is a firm NO on replacements - they do repairs only. I told them I thought that seemed a bit silly given that I hadn't even been able to use it due to what was clearly a manufacturers defect. Their response: you should complain to the

This is one fun game! The wireless buzzers are great. The format of the games are lots of fun and the characters are hilarious. There are almost 5,000 questions on the disc so you will probably go for quite a while without repeats. Also, there are already three sets of questions on the Playstation Network you can buy that contain 500 questions each.
On top of all that there is also My Quiz which allows users to make their own quizes and play them on your PS3 as well. Buzz even has online "sofa vs. sofa" so you can play against people online. Overall this game is WELL worth the money! Very fun!

I had another wireless keyboard before this one but had problems with the mouse. This one has both wonderful mouse and keyboard plus it came with a module for when you lose connection it will pick the signal back up and all you have to do is just push a button on the module and then move the mouse or use keys on the keyboard till it picks up the signal which only takes a couple of seconds instead of having to go back into the program and resetting things.

The 1000H arrived on 9/24/08. It worked just fine out of the box after going through the setup. The display is very bright, I had to set the brightness 2/3 of the way down.
I did manage to "scrooch" XP trying to install Trend Micro 2007 and I had to do a restore using the ASUS restore DVD with a Lite-On DX-8A1H external USB CD/DVD drive. This took 15 minutes.
ASUS includes a 90-day trial version of Eset Nod32 anti-virus. I am using this and the Windows Firewall. There is minimal junk-ware pre-installed and what there is can be easily removed if you don't activate it first.
The keyboard is very useable and there is almost no flex in it. I didn't buy the Eee PC to write an encyclopedia, I bought it for when we travel to read email, etc. The touchpad operation/sensitivity can be improved by going into the hardware setup and setting the touchpad sampling rate to 20, the minimum value.
The wireless b/g/n connection works well with my Linksys WRT54G2 router and I can see and logon to several

The game show characters will always make you laugh, and its a great game to bring out when you have company. I love the concept, and I love the wireless buzzers you get with it. Nice to see they didnt affect the pricing of the overall game. I certainly hope they have addon packages in the future with more questions and categories. This is a great title to have for parties, and even with the kids.

Please everyone be aware of the fact you need an analog audio output for this headphone set to work on your TV and I guess anything else. I have a brand new TV HD digital all the bells and whistles but not a audio output to be found. I spoke with a JVC tech that was very friendly and helpful and he could not believe I did not have one and suggested I call the TV manufacurer. I did and they were very curt with their reply. No it does not have one.
I can not give a complete review, but I did want everyone to be aware of the problem I had. I am still in shock. Look at your hookups before you order and make sure you have a audio output jack.

The M6752 I purchased is an excellent machine for the money. It will be used by my wife for browsing and e-mail, so it is well suited for her. I would prefer a model with a discrete video card rather than the on-board chip. However, for my usage this is a perfect fit.

Well, before I purchased the Frame, I read as many reviews as I could. Still, I took a chance. I wanted to use it for both Videos and Photographs.
Now, most of the Reviewers are on the money on this one. It depends on how you're going to use the Frame and if you're lucky enough to have the correct Video format on your camera/recording device.
PHOTOGRAPHS:
1. Does a great job of Displaying, Fading, Zooming, Pausing, and allowing control of your "Stills".
2. The Display Quality is Excellent.
VIDEOS: Here's the rub, as follows:
1. Some AVI and some MOV will play. Mostly those taken with a digital camera will work, but not always. I tried some from a top Olympus camera, and they played out of sync with the audio and video.
2. If you perform any Editing on your Videos, they usually will not play.
3. If you converted from one Format to another, such as WMV to MOV or AVI, they will not play.
4. I tried two Webcams, and those videos, in correct format or converted, would not play.

The Epson Workforce 600 is a very feature rich product, but it had me at 'scan to memory card.'
It's a very simple feature that I've always wanted one of these multifunction units to implement. And Epson has executed it perfectly. Simply put a document in the autofeeder or flatbed, select scan to memory card, and push the button. It scans and safely stores the document on flash memory (it accepts a variety of flash memory cards) in either JPEG for PDF format. Epson even smartly added a file server which effectively turns the printer into a network attached storage device.
These two features are so great I actually have no intention of ever plugging it into my computer. With its built in WiFi I keep it downstairs in my kitchen so I can grab and scan important documents before they get lost on their way upstairs to my office. When I'm ready I just connect to its file share over the network and drag the files into my document manager. Totally awesome.
And yes it does the other

This printer has all the nice functions one would expect in a printer of this type. However, that is all I can say from a positive perspective. Our first unit arrived nearly a year ago. It kept freezing up spontaneously, mid-fax, mid-copy, middle of the night, anytime. After six months, it was becoming unbearable, so after MUCH tech support phone time, HP finally replaced it with a REFURBISHED model. What a mistake! This one, the ink levels don't work at all, the paper jams contantly, the fax outgoing function freezes all the time, I could go on and on. After 11 months, unending hours of tech support, and endless frustrations, I'm on Amazon looking for a better model. Don't buy this printer, you can do better. We also have a 3200 model (no fax), and it is a pleasure. Keep shopping.

So I got this bad boy in via UPS this morning and so far I am very pleased. I selected super saver shipping and got this in two days of it becoming instock after preorder phase so that was pretty cool. Anyway back to the item in hand. It definetly lives up to the hype and i'll tell you why...
It is very sexy looking for a net book and when I showed a couple neighbors they where impressed with it's look as well.
It is easy to type on for the most part. There is a slight adjustment to the placement of certain keys but I don't believe it should take more than a week to get into that comfort zone. I've used smaller netbooks and this one is a vast improvement in terms of size.
Bluetooth is awesome! I conected to my bluetooth enabled Samsung Yp2 mp3 players and performed a wireless transfer of a few movies and some music. I'm sure when it is time for me to connect to my cell phone for internet access it will work just as easily. BTW wireless N is the shiznit.
Oh yeah

I'm a fan of the netbook concept. When I first saw the Asus EEE 4G I bought it on sight and never looked back at my old laptops...
Well, at least until the novelty wore off. After awhile the 7" screen and tiny keyboard drove me nuts. The EEE had a special place in my heart, but it was hardly practical. I fortunately sold it before the new crop of Atom-based processors came out, still hoping for a future machine that would "get it right."
The MSI Wind gets it right. The screen is just the right size, the battery life is terrific, build quality is solid, and the keyboard is a joy to use. After evaluating everything from the Acer Aspire One, the 901 and 1000 series Asus EEEs, all the way to the Dell Mini 9 (which I ordered -- and canceled after trying the Wind), this is the clear winner.
From a geek perspective, this is a fun machine to mod. I upgraded RAM to 2GB ($20), bought a new 250GB Scorpio hard drive on Amazon ($80), and then created a dual-boot Windows XP and OS X Leopard machine...
