All I can say is I love this TV!!! It does take some getting used to. The picture is so crisp and many people have said that it seems like the picture is moving too fast. My sister in law wanted to disable the 120hz... It is hard to watch my old TVs now. DLNA was difficult to set up initialy but that was my computers settings I went to another computer and it worked fine.
I am a little annoyed with amazon since the price dropped before I received the TV and they would not refund the difference.
Shipping was early and the delivery guys were friendly and a bit jealous...

Typical Sony dependable & perfoms well, on a 1 - 10 scale overall satisfaction "8", picture "7", sound "9", ease of use "8". Also amazon.com gets an "8" on customer service for a Samsung LCD I recently sent back because of sound problems. They sent out a new TV within 5 days and picked up the old one. I never was without a TV.

I did a lot of research when I decided to buy a 52" TV. I'm a student and a part-time salesman at a fortune 100 company in consumer electronics. After weeks or perhaps months of preparation and research I narrowed down my options to the Samsung A750 and the Sony bravia w4100. Now I did have a Samsung A550 and a Sony Trinitron High Def CRT at home and they were both pretty impressive but I figured that Sony does a better job in 52" or larger category after observing the w4100 and a750 for several days at work.
First off lets talk about the screen. The 50'000:1 contrast of the Samsung vs. 30'000:1 contrast ratio of the Sony. The way Samsung measures its contrast ration is radically different from Sony, that is why Samsung never discloses its "TRUE CONTRAST RATIO", but Sony does, in this case it's 3,000:1. Whatever the true contrast ration of Samsung it is not superior to that of Sony's this is something that most experts agree on. It is easy to blast your dynamic contrast ration but not

I'm not going to repeat all the positive things that have been written about this TV. Let me just say they are all true and the Amazon White Glove service was flawless. The big box stores just can't compete. In fact, it's not even close. I don't think most people know that if you charge this on your Amazon Visa card the original warranty is doubled at no cost. By using Amazon,I avoided sales tax, paid no delivery fee and got an extended warranty at no cost. Savings of about $400.
This is our second large screen LCD. The first was a Westinghouse 47 inch LCD we bought from a big box store. Let me just say that the quality of the Samsung TV is vastly superior to the Westinghouse. Here again it is not even a close call. My advice to buyers is avoid Westinghouse, get this TV and buy it from Amazon.

This is an amazing set. For the past year I've been holding out for an XBR but recently the feature set in those sets isn't up to par with what it used to be. This TV has a nice balance of features (beyond just TV), a really nice picture and is very thin.
The DLNA is pretty cool. Right out of the box it found my laptop on the network and I could browse pictures and music it had - presumably because Vista and Windows Media have DLNA and 'serve' up content to whoever is on the network. Even more shocking was that it saw my 4-year old Sony Vaio that came with its own media server capabilities. The TV locked up (had to unplug it) when trying to view pictures, but music and some videos played just fine. I've not installed the software that Samsung supplies with the set - so it should get even better.
One word of CAUTION though. If you have a Dish receiver or Pioneer cable box, note that presently this set will likely interfere with your ability to make use of the remote controls for

I've had the tv for about two weeks now and it has been great. The HD picture is amazing of course, my SD programs look great and Blu-ray movies are virtually flawless. I moved up from a 42" Plasma, which has been a great tv. The LCD is definitely brighter in my very open living room. I chose this over the Samsung 52" 650 model. While the Samsung has a slightly brighter screen and Consumer Reports loves the tv, it's very glossy screen simply reflected too much light for my viewing location. The more matte finish on the Sony has been perfect.

Lots has been written about the quality of the picture, so I will just say everything written has been my experience also. Awesome picture. It blows away everything else I looked at in the stores and now in our home, it is even better.
Spend some time playing with the menu settings if for nothing else just seeing how much control you have over the picture. The menu is pretty well laid out and easy to make changes (although the remote's scroll wheel is a little frustrating). Menu changes take place right away making it easier to see what you have done without having to exit and re-enter the menu systeam again and again.
Some notes on my setup so that it may help some others having any issues.
TV connected to Comcast DVR (motorola) which seesm to only output 1080i max. Not sure if Comast has newer DVR boxes that offer 1080p or not. Will have to check on that. Might also be a Comcast cable limitation. But the picture still looks pretty great, so I don't see an issue here. I found that

We bought this television from the Navy Exchange in April 2008, before it really went into production. We waited 4 months for its arrival, and it was worth every minute of that wait. The natural motion processors make the picture so realistic that it's like you're looking through a window at real people. The perfect pixel system gives you a picture that's so clear, you won't ever be able to watch a plain tv again. There are enough personalized settings that, no matter what your taste, you'll be able to set the picture up exactly the way you like it.
We did have one small problem with the set: It would randomly turn itself off. The set came right back on every time, but it was a real pain. We called the support number listed on the website and were pleased to find an easy fix. Steve, the support guy, gave us a downloadable file to upgrade the tv's software. We put it on a memory stick, popped it into the USB port of the tv, and it automatically upgraded the tv without any problems at all.

I work at Circuit City selling TVs and rarely am I impressed with a new TV because they all look the same after calibration. When we got this TV in was the first time I looked a TV and just dropped my jaw saying, "I gotta own this!". Usually, for motion and colors, plasmas are so much better than LCDs. Not this case. Samsung, the number 1 TV seller, created this beautiful TV as a bookend to their year of great TVs. It is as beautiful as it is thin. Hook up a blu ray player to this TV and you are good to go. The motion and colors look like not only are you there, but that you can touch everything. This is the TV that will break sales records this holiday season. Buy this TV, now!

My first HDTV purchase and I have to say I am very pleased with this set to-date. I am a long time Sony fan and up till this purchase all the other TV's I've Purchased has been Sony's. If Sony had come out with a "Z" series in a 52" that was similarly priced, they may have had me. But when purchasing on what I saw (picture) and not my heart I feel I made the right decision. Here are some quick points on my thoughts about the 52A750.
1)The picture is outstanding right out of the box. This alone should drive most purchases.
2)The complaints about glare from the glossy screen are way over rated.
3)The bezel design looks real nice, however it could of been a little bit smoother, as I notice some slight imperfections in the reflections off of it. Being that it has that nice glossy black finish any imperfection tends to be magnified in the reflection.
4)The small red color at the edge looks nice up close, but can't really be seen past 5 or 6 feet.
5)4 HDMI inputs make for quick set up.

I have had this TV for 2 months now and could not be happier. This set produces excellent picture quality, amazing black levels and vibrant colors. The new Bravia Engine 2 also improves with 120Hx motion processing from Sony XBR4 line. My TV is located in a well lit room and the semi-matte display was a must. This TV delivers many useful settings to let you have the full freedom of making this TV truly yours. The PQ on 1080p material such as blu-ray movies or games is phenomenal. Broadcasted 1080i/720p HD sources look very good - all depending on your provider and signal strength. SD quality is good too but again it varies from channel to channel.
For everyday use, this TV will get some immediate props for its picture delivery from any viewer. If you like sports, you can expect unrivaled video processing of fast action. If you enjoy movies, this Sony offers specific combination of settings to complement the true 24p cinematic picture.
Since blu-ray movies are still expensive I have done

Excellent and speedy delivery. Ordered it on Saturday and it was delivered and set up on Wednesday (4 days). Very easy to set up. Very intuitive controls, instructions and features. Excellent speakers. Excellent picture. We do not have cable; the TV is hooked up to our old $19.99 set of rabbit ear antennas. We get all the free broadcast HDTV programming without any difficulty and with excellent reception. Very easy to connect laptop to set. DVD and VCR hook-ups also very easy.

I want to say that if you have the cash for this unit do it now.
The DVD up convert is so hot it looks like no other than next than real. Its almost too good to be true.
I was having some guilt pains on this price point.
Had to wait for it to ship and all. After I saw what this thing will do with a cheep DVD up convert player alone. All pains went out the window when my jaw hit the floor. I cant wait to see Blu-Ray on this tv.
I have seen plenty of lcds in my time. Nothing can run with this. Move over Sony XBR. Samsung just raised the bar real high. Only had it for a day but I would do it all over in a flash.

Bought this from Amazon, best price by $400+ from local stores and lower then other sites, and the Amazon reputation!!! White Glove delivery was 4 days earlier then anticipated and was flawless. They brought it in and set it up, turned it on and left...
Over all I LOVE this television. My 'quirks' later are minor compared to the overall excellence of this.
Picture is sharp, bright, and clear, even with sporting events. Sound is excellent, glare (I have two large windows in the room) is low compared to a glossy TV.
I have played one DVD and watched cable television from it. The cable sourced unencrypted 720 and 1080 HD broadcasts that fill the screen are AWSOME! The others are better then my old 37" as they equate to about a 42" but I feel cheated because they don't fill the screen without losing the edges of the picture. This is a transmission issue not a TV issue.
I bought a Bravia audio system at the same time and while it took me a little while to find all the settings in both

Obviously you've gotta shop and compare various manufacturers to formulate your own opinion. I did that, went to various stores and compared side by side. I feel this Sony, if not the best, then certainly should rank up there with the best. The picture (HD) is near perfect. The non-glare screen works out very nice since it's in a brightly lit room. The on-screen menus are easy to use and when you pair it up to other Sony equipment (say a A/V receiver and Blueray DVD) the controls are flawless. Amazons price guarantee worked very well too. I received (you have to call) 3 price reduction refund credits during the 30 day period from the time the product shipped and they amounted to another $100 in savings. If you're afraid of a price drop, don't be. Buy during a low sale price then keep an eye on it for the next 30 days. The price of these can change daily. The only complaint I have was with the shipping. The item shipped and arrived quickly. The problem? You're supposed to be notified by

I dont usually write too much reviews, unless I am really impressed. I did a lot of research to buy a big screen 52 inch LCD from a trusty Sony Trinitron. I first bought a Sharp 52 inch LCD 1080p (non 120hz) after research due to the style, the narrow bezel and frame, and good reviews of the picture quality from experts. However, I had to return 2 sets, one had a white line in the middle, and the second one had no picture after a few uses. Go figure. Then I researched bigger brands such as Sony, Samsung, but this one fit my budget. However, I hesitated, due to the brand Philips, which I was not familiar with. But, due to my budget, I bought it and was a great purchase so far. The set up was easy and I had no issues after installing it. During my research, I read articles by experts that 120hz does not make a big difference and may not be cost effective. However, WOW...I was impressed at the smooth movements it produced. I mean you can really notice it. The only issue I had,

I received the Philips 52" 120Hz LCD TV yesterday morning and I have to say I am very pleased with my purchase. It has loads of connectors for all your toys and was so simple to setup, the interface is very intuitive. I watched movies, TV and played games on it for 16 hours straight yesterday. I have my upconvert DVD player, Blueray, PS3 and PC connected to this TV and all I can say is WOW. Quality materials, beautiful design and the picture and sound are amazing! The hidden 4 speakers do a great job (I couldn't believe it). The picture quality is amazing, brings all my DVD's to the next level, blueray is out of this world, PS3 is a dream on this thing! Black levels are excellent, no artifacting during PC gameplay, this TV is fast enough to keep up and beyond!
This TV is feature packed, unbelievable value for money, has fully adjustable settings, 2ms response, 33,000:1 contrast, 120 Hz, etc. I have absolutely no complaints, I couldn't be happier! If you are thinking of a 52" LCD and this

Amazon shipped this product on Monday and it arrived on Thursday! The company who delivered it, called my home made an appointment for delivery between 9 - 12 noon for the following day. They arrived at 9 am, unloaded the television, set it up and turned it on to make sure everything worked. They told my wife that we should keep the box for 30 days just in case something went wrong, as the manufacture likes it to be shipped back in the same box. Good idea, where are you going to find a box to fit it. My wife said they were very professional and took their time setting it up. Now for the main thing....the Samsung 52" TOC LCD, is amazing! I spent a lot of time going to stores looking at different brands, reading the forum pages on Consumer Report as well as the reviews here on Amazons. The Samsung won outright and it wasn't even close. The picture is the best on any unit on the market and Amazon had the best price and the best service AS USUAL. I could not ask for anything more,

My son got this TV for christmas because he's 6 and every 6 yr old MUST have a flat screen right? lol. Well, we got it on sale and for a fantastic deal and it has the most unbelieavble crisp, clear picture that I've seen. I own a Sony and it beats the picture on that one by a long shot! It is very light, we chose to sit it on his dresser instead of mounting it on the wall. Gone are the days of lifting the backbreaking 400 # TV's!!! It has the plug in's in the front so it was very easy for us to hook up the Xbox 360 and the Wii to the tv...and gaming is incredible on that tv. it is like you are actually THERE. So naturally, even though we have 5 tv's in the house,we often gather in his room to watch movies and play video games...Again it is so light, very user friendly, has the sleep function which I love, and you cannot beat the picture. We reasearched and looked at several tv's before purchasing this one. It was the best price for the size and quality. I highly recommend this tv!
