There is virtually no difference between the OEM XP and the standard full retail version of XP. It contains the same features and software. It also contains the same device drivers. With most equipment on a PC Windows XP has a basic device driver for it and the installer may later choose to update it to one from the manufacturer (Creative labs, NVIDIA, etc).
With some devices you will require the manufacturer device driver which is usually provided on a disc at the time of purchase or downloaded from their web site. That is standard for Windows no matter where your PC came from and is also the case when installing a new device into your PC. This is how it has always been with Windows and is no different in this version. Whatever you buy, the best is usually a standard Microsoft version.
