Samsung 52" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
I've had this tv for 30 days now and I am so happy with it. I wanted to allow time for any problems to surface such as the auto-off problem that I had read about in earlier reviews. Samsung must have done the firmware fix at the factory or I was just lucky. My experience with this purchase from Amazon was totally positive in every aspect.

This was my first major online purchase so I was a bit nervous. I had been researching and comparing Samsung, Toshiba, Sony and Sharp 52" LCD HDTV's for the past 6 months. Comparing price and features the Samsung LN52A650 is certainly the one with the most bang for your buck. With Amazon's price plus free shipping and zero tax none of the local big stores could come close. And I had been watching the sales. We're not rich so when we make a major purchase it has to be right.

The TV was delivered exactly one week from the day I placed the order. Eagle called the day before to give us a delivery timeframe and they were on time. We live way out

Let me start this off by saying... when it comes to "tech stuff", I'm a bit of a moron. So, if you're looking for a review that was written by someone who knows "stuff", quit reading. I've had this tv for about a week now and both me and the wife LOVE it. The picture is amazing!!!! All we did was unpack it, plug everything in and turn it on. It was super simple to set up and the picture is awesome, even with factory settings. I've read a bunch of reviews that talk about the picture even being better after "tweeking" it, but I can't imaging it being any better. My wife and I don't agree on everything though; I HAVE to turn the 120Hz off when watching movies and some tv shows, it's just too life-like. My wife however loves it. I love the way that it makes sports, reality shows and news look, just not movies and most tv shows. But, just turn it off and the picture looks perfect (to me anyway). Lastly, Amazon's price beat the brick and mortor stores by almost $1000. I ordered it on a Sunday

Samsung 52" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
The Samsung LN52A650 is spectacular. I have had the tv for two weeks (having purchased through Amazon.) Deep blacks have really improved my picture from all sources. This TV also handles SD signals well. I was afraid that my Wii video might look more aliased ("jaggies"), but it handles it very well.

Bluray is like no other. I love the auto motion plus (120Hz technology), but it does take time to get used to at first. The picture is SO smooth that it makes movies have a documentary feel to them. It looks live. I think Americans (like me) in general, aren't used to that live feel for movies. After careful observation, it is superior, and I shudder when I switch the 120Hz off because it is so chopped up looking in comparison. 1080i sources are also greatly improved because of this and feel more like a progressive scan source. Video games on the PS3 look great too.

The only disappointment I have is that the Optical audio output will only route Stereo audio coming from a 5.1 digital

This LN52A650 is an absolute knock out LCD TV. I have nothing but praise for the picture quality and did extensive research before buying. Bravia fans, eat your heart out because this picture quality leaves you in the dust. Buy one and you won't regret it. The delivery service that Amazon used was efficient and professional. Amazon is the way to go as BB and other bricks and morter stores can't come close to Amazon's price and shipping resources. TV is number one in my book especially at the price.

Three months of researching TVs. Countless trips to BB and CC... Finally I clicked to purchase. A week later we got the LN52A650. Its "touch of color" is understated and not the flame red I feared; barely noticeable but noticeable. You can read other reviews about the guts of the set. I understand it and let me assure you that it has the nuts (and bolts) to backup its pretty bezel. What's the bottom line?

1. Image is great. On both standard definition TV sources and especially HD. Minimal pixilation is noted from regular ol' TV broadcasts.

2. My progressive scan DVD player looks wonderful. A blueray player looks stunning (my neighbor brought his over), but I'm very happy with the definition of my 480p output.

My decision was between this set and the BR4... I'm not disappointed at all, and I don't think you will be either!

Samsung 52" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
When I started looking for a new TV, I had determined I wanted a plasma. Naturally, the Pioneer PRO 110FD was at the top of my list. However, at $4,200 as an open box locally, it wasn't going to end up in my home. I then started looking at the next best thing, the top-of-the-line Panasonics (800U and 850U). After deciding on the 850, I was at the store making final comparisons to the 110 and I wasn't impressed. That's when I noticed a TV next to the 850 that was blowing it away...the Samsung 750A. The 750 was rivaling the 110. I was stunned.

After a little research, I found out that the 650A has the same panel as the 750. The only differences were the speakers, some pre-loaded content (art, cooking, etc.), and the design of the frame. Speakers aren't that big of a deal, especially if you plan on getting a surround sound set up. Pre-loaded art? I actually saw a demo of this...couldn't imagine why anyone would sit and watch it. The frame would be a matter of personal preference.

Samsung 52" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
this is a great tv. picture and sound exceeded my expectations. some earlier reviews complained about the sound but in my opinion it is very good. white glove delivery service is great. i ordered this tv may 25, 2008. may 26 was memorial day holiday but the tv shipped that day anyway. the delivery service called me the afternoon of may 28, only 2 days later and wanted to deliver the tv the next day. you can't expect any better service than that. i watched the delivery man unload the tv. it was strapped to the side of his box van so it couldn't move or bounce around. he unloaded it on to a 4 wheel dolly and wheeled it right up to my back door, unpacked it and connected it to make sure it was working properly. he even offered to help me put it in my entertainment center but i wasn't ready for that. after ordering the tv the price dropped and i was refunded $148.72 by amazon. this is a great company to deal with. do not be afraid to order this tv from amazon. i saved almost $800.00 from the

Samsung 52" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
I Just got the Samsung LN52A650 52 inch television. I was astounded by the burst of sharp colors and sound. Layman instructions and picture guides made the set up a pleasure and easy. Though, the three weeks wait for the set was frustating and cruel ( basketball playoffs)and tracking the purchase was no help, it was worth the wait. Make certain that manufacture and merchent warrenties are also shiped with the set.

I was initially taken aback from all the 5 * reviews at amazon. So I went to BestBuy (at Day & then Night) to check this out myself and compare this with Aquos (which I was leaning towards). I was actually SHOCKED!!
I have very high regards for SAMSUNG (given that SONY is a faint image in SAMSUNG's rear view mirror now)but I could not believe that this will happen with SHARP!! This is the best LCD TV with the most flexible connectivity options. Picture is breathtaking. I did not have a SAT and my HD Receiver was outdated and I was still enjoying the picture. HOWEVER, when I received my latest SAT HD receiver, I simply can't take my eyes off the TV when viewing Discover HD, CBS HD, CNN HD...so on. DVDs play great. I am not convinced with Blu-Ray is even needed for me with such high quality image with regular DVD. Anyway, if you split between multiple TVs, then be sure to check this out SIDE-BY-SIDE with others at BestBuy.

Samsung 52" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
I ordered this tv and just got it today. From what I have seen so far, this is by far the best deal I have ever gotten. The price on amazon was about 300 dollars cheaper then I have found anywhere else and I saved on sales tax and shipping.( the price dropped 243 dollars since i ordered it and Amazon quickly gave me a refund without any hassle at all). The delivery guy came today and took it out of the box and made sure everthing was perfect with it before he left. He also took the box and garbage with him.
I fired it upand the picture is absolutely beautifull. I am have it set up with a Blu-ray player and a Onkyo 7.1 surround sound system. It looks and sounds amazing. I recommend this to anyone looking for a new tv.

All of the other reviews here get into the details, so you can read those if you are looking for more information. I looked at TV's for 2 months before I chose this one, and it is simply the best looking TV I have ever seen. The picture is breath taking, and connections are plentiful. The only thing I don't like is the remote control. The wheel that other people are talking about is pretty pathetic, but as long as you don't 'spin' the wheel and just click on it as though it were arrows, it works fine. Definitely not worth giving this TV anything less than 5 stars. If you are debating about any other TV, just make your life easier and get this one, you will NOT be disappointed.

Samsung 52" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
My Series 6 52" Samsung LCD must already have the new firmware, as in many weeks I've not seen any auto-shutoff yet. The 120Hz, 4ms, Touch of Red is, for my opinion, the BEST LCD on the market, surpassed only by the Series 7 add-ons, but still has the exact same picture quality.
I purchased a Samsung upscaling 1080P DVD player that was perfectly mated straight out of the box, and the TV remote already worked for both.
This TV puts all other brands currently available to shame. I checked them all out at the local Best Buy, then saved a ton of money at Amazon. I waited years for the house big screen, having a dolby speaker setup already built into the ceiling when finishing the rec room. IMAX has got nothing on my cave as the 1000 watt surround system gives me perfect Home Theatre Heaven. Worth every penny, and other brands costing more will be a year or three catching up. Thank you Samsung, Amazon and 6ave. I can rewatch my entire DVD collection like I'm sitting at the IMAX seeing it for

As with many others, I did a lot of research, looked at many products, but the 50,000 - 1 contrast was the deciding factor. Also the price was lower than prior models of the 52" Samsung. Went to BB, but they could not match Amazon--got it within a week. Takes some time to set up, but the picture is wonderful--colors great. The sound is not as good as the picture. I put it in an entertainment center and with the speakers on the side, I went out and bought a center and two bookcase speakers to enhance the sound. Sitting pretty now.

Ordered the TV from Amazon, Recieved the shipment in three days in excellent condition. TV set is beautiful, I have been using the TV for a week and a half, picture quality is amazing. The TVs price has been reduced twice during this time and Amazon has given me the difference for the price reduction without any issues or problems after contacting them. 30 Days Post sale price guarantee works well.

Samsung 52" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
First of all, I bought this TV from Amazon several weeks ago for a hundred dollars more and just got a refund on the difference. So you can feel very secure that you're getting a good price from Amazon. Other than that, the TV was a little slow in arriving (9 days to Chicago), but it was free shipping so what do you expect?

As far as the TV itself, the best thing by far is the picture. I haven't even properly calibrated my TV yet and it looks great. Standard def looks much better and HD looks simply incredible. You've got tons of connections on the back and I don't see myself running out of spaces to plug things soon. The InfoLink feature is a neat addition. I've got my TV hooked up to a wireless bridge and I'm able to check the weather at the push of a button.

A couple of things to keep in mind though. If you plan to wall mount this (as I did) make sure you have a long philips screwdriver. The TV comes with the stand already attached and the screws are very deep. Secondly, be aware that

We have had this set for over two weeks now. Our initial opinion remains unchanged - The picture quality is simply phenomenal! And we have yet to make any of the picture adjustments recommended by CNET, AVS and other sites. Seeing HD on this set makes you hunger for more HD programming. We have experienced none of the shutdown, purple haze, flashlight, mura, etc. problems reported here and elsewhere so perhaps Samsung has resolved some of their early production issues. In fact, we have no problems to report at this time. Our set came with the 1003.M firmware update installed (there is one more recent update that seems a little buggy so I won't download that unless needed). I selected the set after exhaustive research online plus in-person side by side comparison. I chose it over the Sony XBR4 and various top quality plasmas. The Series 6 colors are vivid and crisp, the blacks are black and the motion is true. With this LCD set, there is no lengthy break-in period and no potential burn-in

This tv is amazing! I researched for a month before picking this one and boy, i'm glad I did! I did not have the problem associated with the tv but I was aware of it prior to purchase. Amazon was the best price out there and the delivery was quick. I was concerned of making such an expensive purchase online ( damages, return costs, timeliness of delivery...)but it was fine. The guys brought it in, checked it out and it was delivered within a week. I've recommended Amazon to others and will continue. The picture quality is just incredible. This is the tv to get!!

I was deciding between this and the LN52A750. The main advantage of the latter is the DLNA that it provides, otherwise they are very similar (not sure about DNIe Pro). Sony was out right away because of price and DLNA is provided via PS3 so not missing much.

I watched my first bluray movie on this TV and the combination of bluray and the TV was just unbelievable. For the first little while, the picture is so clear that it does not feel like you are watching a movie...I cannot describe it, but it was so good it did not feel right. takes some getting used to. bluray is via PS3 and boy what a difference between an HDMI hookup vs not. IMHO, PS3 is still the best bluray player out there (beware of bluetooth only remote for PS3 if you love your universal remote) + gaming and DLNA which is missing from this TV, so you get it all.

The goods:
- 120 hz motion (a must)
- 1080p (another must)
- Excellent picture quality
- Excellent contrast
- Nice set of features.
- Love Info Link.
- Great

First I would like to mention the delivery service with CEVA was excellent! I ordered the TV through Amazon on 4/23/2008 (Wed) and received an email for delivey scheduling which was received on 04/25/2008 (Fri) 8am. If I had checked my email that morning I might have been able to schedule the delivery for that day and enjoyed the TV during the weekend. But I found the email late in the afternoon and scheduled a delivery for 04/28/2008 (Mon). Delivery was prompt and on time and even gave me a 1 hour notice phone call before they came by. They were curtious and very professional.

I have been waiting and waiting to buy a HD LCD TV and I am so glad I waited to buy the LN52A650. Like every one says this is an amazing TV! I cannot stress enough how great the picture looks. It is just breath taking when I watch HD broadcast (especially sports) and up convet DVD movies through PS3(did not have chance to watch Blu-ray yet). The default setting of the picture was a bit too bright for

Just received the TV for use as a monitor for a conference room in our building. Arrived in four business days in perfect shape and the setup was a five minute task and the image quality is much better than expected. Very user friendly and the setup prompts are intuitive. We did not open the manual and have the unit operating as one of two monitors for one of our computers. This is the ultimate in conference room presentation equipment. We are using a Bluetooth Logitech keyboard and mouse so the look is extremely sleek. Could not be more pleased.

Samsung 52" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Like everyone here has said, the picture quality is fantastic. But since every good review about a TV says this, let me add by saying this is probably the best LCD on the market. Sony's XB4 might come close but given that it costs more, has less features (no USB or ethernet, less inputs), and weighs 50% more than the Samsung, the choice should be pretty clear. For those who are new to the 1080p world but are still skeptical, this is the TV that will shut up the people who say: "I don't really see that big a difference between regular TVs and HDTVs."
I have Comcast cable and even the regular channels look pretty good; the HD channels are stunning. If you're still unsure, go to Best Buy or Circuit City and see it for yourself, just make sure they have it adjusted right. All in all, it's a beautiful set, stunning picture quality, and for those who do experience the reset problem (which I did not), the firmware upgrade is simple and easy, and from what I've heard fixes the problem once

I hesitated buying this TV until I read that a firmware update fixed the shut-off issue. I bought mine today - hooked up a Samsung (DVD-HD860)unconverting DVD player (HDMI) and Wow. The DVD player is only a 1080i - I'm gonna get the 1080p version or wait for Blu-Ray (read below). The picture on this TV is simply amazing. If you're thinking about this TV, just do it. I've been researching and waiting for 3 months. Incredible PQ. HD channels look great and DVDs are fantastic. I'll be getting a Blu-ray player as soon as the new versions come out later this summer (I hope).
I played a home movie DVD that I made and saw colors and detail I hadn't seen in the same movie on another (DLP)TV/DVD player.
BTW, I called Samsung for the firmware update - the gal told me it would be harmful to my TV unless it had the shut-off problem and advised against it.
To say the least - I'm impressed. Strong buy recommendation here. I just hope my initial enthusiasm isn't ruined by any problems down the road.

Samsung 52" 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
I've had this TV since very early March. I've watched HD, SD and Blu-Ray and can not find a flaw. The 650 handles motion extremely well to where blurring and other artifacts are vitually non-existant. The AMP is a very cool feature that brings a realism to film making it seem more life-like, or as if it were originally shot on HD Video. Some have said this gives off a "soap opera" effect. I can see that description, but to me it makes film based DVD's and movies look more like your watching a real-life play, viewing it through a window. It's a very cool effect!

I understand people's concern's with the glossy screens found on plasma and some LCD's. This screen is slightly less reflective than Samsung's 71 series but can still be a problem for some. It would be nice if there was an easy solution for this but there's not. Sony and other makers use a matte type of screen that certainly helps or eliminates the problem but introduces other negatives. I find colors and blacks just don't

I've been doing the research and visiting the brick and mortar locations and I've concluded the Samsung features are the best on the market currently. I've been concerned about the auto shut-off problem I've been reading. I called Samsung Customer Support and was told it is not an issue but they didn't mention the firmware update which is indeed posted on their Web site today. Go to the Samsung Web site and look under "SUPPORT/NEWS & ALERTS" - A650 Series LCD TV Auto Off Firmware Update. A small number of Samsung A650 series LCD TVs turn off automatically. The following models are affected:

* LN40A650A1F
* LN46A650A1F
* LN52A650A1F

Samsung has released a firmware update that fixes the problem. If you have one of these models, Samsung recommends that you install this firmware update on your TV, even if you are not experiencing the auto off problem. If you have a USB memory drive, you can download the firmware from our website. For complete instructions on downloading and installing the

Just a heads up to anyone owning any size model of the 650 series...

Samsung issued a firmware update, via their website on 4/3/08, that fixes the random shut off problem. You will need a USB flash drive to apply the update via the Wiselink USB port on the TV. This firmware update also enhances the AMP effect on all sets.

It's a really nice and stylish looking TV. The red color that is so bright on the product's pictures is only a shade of dark cherry red that is visible only under bright light. This reddish shadow looks incredibly cool! Totally different than the product photos. If you have modern home, this is the set to have. Forget that Sony with that horrible aluminum things around it!
The set has not turned itself off yet as other users reported, so maybe it was a bad batch they got. The picture is amazing, best I've seen so far (with 50,000:1 contrast ratio it better be good!). It has RGB input for PC, but also you can configure HDMI input #2 to be a PC input (for DVI equipped video cards). I didn't know about it, and tried to run my PC through other HDMI ports that I didn't set to be PC inputs. The result was .... TV quality picture with PC screen, all clipped, blurry text, etc. Pretty awful. Then I set the HDMI #2 input to be PC input, hooked my PC to it, and suddenly I was starring with my

When I brought this flat panel HDTV home I was so excited about the great picture I had heard so much about. For a while it was all I had hoped. Then after a week and a half, the TV started turn off on its own and then turn itself on again.....over and over and over again. Samsung acts like they have never heard of this problem, but after talking to another owner and looking around on the net, this is a major problem with this unit. No fix in sight for me. Stay away from this TV no matter how good the picture looks. It will drive you crazy. I paid $3000 to be driven crazy.
