192.168.10.1 again 192.168.10.1That is the address to access the router. Dlink likes to use 192.168.0.1, well that's the address for the Trendnet. Now why is it so important? Because they don't bother to tell you what it is until after you install all this crazy network monitoring crap that you don't need. They force you to use the CD to setup the router, ok fine, if you are a total newbie and have no ideal what you are doing, then I can understand how the CD would help with step by step instructions. I did as the tutorial said and it kept not finding an internet connection. After repeated attempts, I finally found the 192.168.10.1 address online and manually configured the router and it worked instantly. This company needs to just let people know what it is in the manual that comes in the box because not everyone is a router newbie. Wasted 30 minutes of my life on that stupid tutorial. The worst part of it was that it installs some program called Network Magic that stinking takes over

I Found this cheaper as a combo at NewEgg!! only $99.00 and included an 8 GB jump drive. Sorry Amazon is not always the cheapest. I love this router, I never get connection disconnects like I used to with my D-Link. It is fast and easy to set up. Using with win xp on desktop and win vista home edition on laptop.

I've been running with this router for a month now with little to no issues. Setup was mediocre, the average user may need some assistance but its not too difficult. Distance is far superior to my previous D-Link, I'm able to walk 3 houses down without losing a connection (whereas before I wouldn't be able to reach the middle of my driveway). The only problem I ran into was interference with a cordless phone running the same signal, pitched the phone and I've been error free since.

This is the second router I've used at home. My first was a fine Belkin wireless router, but did not have the Gigabit or N capability. This router had a barely more complicated install than my Belkin. I'm not as fond of the website that TrendNET uses because it seems a little too busy, but I think that's just because there are more selections to choose for the TrendNET.This router also has a second user (called "User", but maybe it can be changed) that can be logged in on the router page (other than Admin), which I don't like because I haven't found a way to limit that user's website view. In other words, I appear to have the same access to the router's functions under both user IDs. I feel the "User" ID is unnecessary since I can't imagine wanting to give anyone access to my router and then limit that access; to me it would be all or no access. Like someone else has mentioned, it's easy to set up encryption. I use WPA-PSK, but it has other security options as well.
My only negative

Unlike some routers that you have to configure before you can get them to work, this one came with an installation CD that did the job right, no strings attached. Instructions were extremely simple and easy to follow, and i've never had any problems with it. Encrypting/securing the router is part of the installation, and you don't have to be a computer junkie to figure it out. About the only downside of the product is fingerprints are highly visible on it when you touch it since it's like a black shiny mirror, but you can just wipe those right off. This product not only supports N-band, but is backwards compatible with all other previous wireless bands (G-band, B-band, etc), no configuration required.

The verdict is still out on my Trendnet TEW-633GR, because it has a routing problem. When I connect my systems (Red Hat, Windows, Palm OS, OS/2 (Warp/Server)), PS2, etc to the Internet using this router, I'm unable to reach various Internet addresses. Doing a trace route finds the packets go so far and then get "Destination Network Unreachable."
The problem does NOT occur under two circumstances.
1) I connect a system directly to my Comcast cable modem.
2) I use my Linksys router.
Hook the Trendnet back up and the problem returns 100% of the time.
After calling Trendnet support, I began to become hopeful in finding a solution. Level one sent me almost immediately to level two, who called me back and worked through various possibilities. Follow-up phone calls from level two, though, required I contact them.
During the last session level two agreed something "interesting" was going on for two reasons.
1) They were unable to ping to these sites from their location using DSL. Their

Final verdict on the Trendnet TEW-633GR and its routing problem. (See Final Update below for the end results.)Summary: When I connect my systems (Red Hat, Windows, Palm OS, OS/2 (Warp/Server)), PS2, etc to the Internet using this router, I'm unable to reach various Internet addresses. Doing a trace route finds the packets go so far and then get "Destination Network Unreachable."
NOTE: This also occurs from the router's administration page's ping page not just from various machines on the network.

2) I use my Linksys router (WRT54G or WRT600N).

Pros: Rate, Range, Features.Cons: None really - only GIG WAN port is useless at this time.
I only have 802.11g clients at this time - getting full 54 Mbps (all the client can do) with 75% signal at 50 feet and 1 floor away while I was getting half of the rate and signal with old 802.11g router at the same location. WISH Feature is cool and it works.
