Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties Expansion Pack: Windows
This is a solid expansion to the AGE OF EMPIRES III, the one you will play for hours at end. Although the 3rd installment of AoE was the weakest of the series (I personally enjoyed much more AGE OF EMPIRES II), I have to admit that I was really pleased by this expansion - and cannot complain but about minor things.

After the lukewarm WARCHIEFS, which introduced Native American civilizations, this expansion introduces three major Asian civilizations (Japanese, Chinese, and Indian) - with their corresponding campaigns.
The Japanese campaign takes place during the Shogunate civil wars. The Chinese campaign (trying to avoid any...political shoals) is on the fictional discovery of the New World by the Chinese (I would have preferred it to be about the unification of China under the Qin dynasty - but, then again, that would make it quite similar to the Japanese campaign). Finally, the Indian campaign is centered on the uprooting of the British East-India Trading Company.

I am an original Age of Empires user - back when they came out with the very first one, I had it so this review might be a little biased. I love Age of Empires and play it with friends every now and then.

This game is fairly complicated but my 11 year old brother gets it pretty well. Basically you start off with villagers and a town center. The whole goal of the game is to gather resources to build up an empire. The more wood, gold, and food you get the more people, buildings, soldiers you can create.

This game is fairly PC intensive so if you have an old system don't count on getting the full effect of the game. I have a Quad 2.4Ghz system with a Nvidia 8800GT card and with all the settings turned up the fans are going 100%. That being said, the graphics are very impressive if turned up all the way.

The Asian Dynasties Expansion pack is pretty sweet - adds the Chinese, Japanese, and other Asian countries. The way they build is completely different than how the other empires build (say

I enjoy all of the Age of Empires games and this one is another great expansion with new gameplay. You get to learn new ways to build your army and new ways to fight which keeps it interesting. The best fun is playing head to head with my husband. We are very competitive.

This expansion pack adds extra challenges with newer maps like the Silk Road map which allows for capturing trading posts instead of building them and further adding the option for a "monopoly win" of the routes. Other maps have treasures and guardians in the sea as well as on land. You can now earn up to having 25 experience cards in a deck as you progress in experience and they have done away with that lame customization of a home city which never made much sense. The experience cards for the new civilizations are also more diverse and innovative than the standard ones in Age III. For loyal players of the series you may get a sense that Age of Mythology was the influence for many of the new features, and a happy marriage at that.

This is the third expansion of Age of Empires III. I find the series very entertaining. A must buy for the strategist that enjoys build and conquer type games. This game is easy to learn to play without much studying of the manual. Good tutorial that quickly gets the player into the action.

Although fun, this expansion pack added only maps and civilizations, unlike the previous expansion pack "The Warchiefs". Absolutely no enhancements were made to the previous civilizations.

I thoroughly enjoyed the new civilizations and their corresponding technologies. I've played all the new single player scenarios.

I only wished the designers would have incorporated more civ-specific music.

This game is by far the funnest online mulitplayer experience out there. If you are looking to buy this game for purposes other than mulitplayer i suggest u don't. The ranking system of eso is amazing so well accurate over 4,000 ppl online at one time.

Fun addition to the original AOE 3 and the warchiefs expansion, this game will give you more stuff to do with the 3 new asian civilizations.

The campaigns are alright, but I was not buying this game just for the campaigns.

So if you are looking for a fun strategy game to play, this is one that is definitely worth trying.

I have lots of added fun with this all the time now. More maps, new
explorer abilities like stun and team/twin explorers! I found a new icon
in the upper-right of descriptions that allow you to read about all the
Real-life-history involved with the items. Sure glad I finally found
that! Jeff in TX
