> My review has 4 stars - on second thought - I'd raise it to 5 stars, but the review edit procedure does not allow a change.
> If you have researched and shopped for a flat screen HDTV, you know how much work it can be, and how overwhelming the task can be for some people. I am an engineer/physicist who works in computer chip manufacturing; and the task was perhaps more daunting because I have the technical background. My brother in-law put in the work - shopping for 3 years (!) before deciding he liked this TV - so I did some quick checking - and simply bought the same model he did!
> The TV is great - no complaints at all about the picture - and that's without even using an HDTV signal. If you have a quality standard definition signal - you may be pleasantly surprised at how good the image is.
- This TV will make you aware of the low quality of original video which is sometimes provided - especially on news reports - some from low resolution consumer owned video cams?. I draw my signal

Yesterday i went to Best buy to purchase wireless router and i said to my friend, lets go see if they have my TV! Sure enough, they had the same tv for $1000 more!! Same model, same everything. Best buy is a rip off. I told a co-worker about my TV and its sensational picture and the price reduction Amazon was offering and he went and bought the same TV!

Im going to be straight with you! You are interested in this TV, you are thinking to yourself, this seems risky.. Its a lot of money and AMAZON? Is it wise to order a TV from AMAZON?!?! I will tell YOU, next time i buy a TV, it will be from AMAZON! sensational service, and savings.

Now about the TV. Absolutely stunning. I was watching the ATL Braves with the 120hz on high and i could see nats around the batter, bugs and flys all over the field. A friend of mine said, "this is unbelievable, i wonder if my TV can see these bugs."

I had a "men-den" aka "man-room" party the other day to watch sports, drink beer and what-not. During half

I have had my Samsung 52" LCD TV now for 9 months and am still blown away by the picture every time I turn it on! I have been to ALL of the major stores and have seen all of the major brands, and have NEVER seen a TV with a picture BETTER than this one! (some come close, but no cigar...not even SONY (full of baloney!!!). If you're thinking of buying a SONY or one of the others that charge you for the HONOR of having their NAME in your house, FORGET IT!!! SAMSUNG is better and for less $$$. And, before I forget, let me sing the praises of AMAZON. This was the FIRST big purchase I have ever made online and I was a little hesitant to do so, but the TV arrived in perfect condition, was EASY to set up and is now proudly hanging on my living room wall, where it blows away all who see it! Thank you SAMSUNG and AMAZON, I would do it again in a NY minute, and can't recommend you both enough!

Ive been following this tv for over a year. went to best buy's and circuit city's to watch it almost every other day. I've read alot on these sets about problems with the tv (VAPORS, STUTTERING, ETC) especially on the avs forums so i started looking at the newer model (ln52a650). However the 71 series looks so much cooler and the price is unbeatable so I ordered from amazon last saturday. figured i have 30 days to return to amazon if there is any issues. got a call from ceva (the shipping co.) on tuesday to setup delivery on thursday. wednesday rolls by and i decide to call and see if i can pickup the item since im about 10 min away from ceva's recieving center here in torrance(even though tracking said it wasnt in torrance yet, dont believe the tracking it updates a day or so late). sure enough i got the tv in my house that same day.

what an amazing tv!
on thursday I watched the nba finals, looked so real, it was unreal! jaw dropping. later that night got metal gear solid 4 for

I am reviewing the 5271F. See my review of the LN52A650 for a different look.

5271 from 9 ft away.
Bluray movies- 9.5/10
DVD Movies- 9/10
Sports- 7/10
Tv shows and tv movies- 9/10

So, for the 5271, With blu-ray, DVD's and Tv shows, my viewing experience from 9 ft. is 9/10 or better. The blu-ray, DVD, and TV viewing is incredible on this TV. There is small issue with flashlights and clouding, but not too noticeable. When I watch sports, my experience drops to 7/10 due to motion blur. Mainly this is NBA. Will it happen with other sports as well? Not as pronounced with the NFL, but it still is not as crisp as I like. MLB is fine, as well as Indy car racing. Tennis has a little blur on the ball. This is because it is tennis. With AMP on, there are serious issues with vapors and Triple Ball effect (where the football is thrown, the ball splits in three.) I need to sit 14 ft away to not see the blur, which is impossible at this house. Yet, at 14 feet, the pq still is amazing and blur is 99%

I did a lot of research on the Samsung TV and decided to go with the 5271. I was skeptical at first with some of the comments that I saw on-line about nightmare delivery problems and returns and such, however after Amazon advertised the unit for the lowest price I could find...I decided to give it a shot. I am so glad I did...I saved around $900.00 and their white glove service offered free of charge was excellent. No problems! Great transaction and most of all...the TV is amazing!!!

This TV is beautiful. I was skeptical at first about the Auto Motion 120Hz system, but have yet to experience any problems. There is a "Demo" mode, which shows Auto Motion ON and Auto Motion OFF on two halves of the TV, allowing you to compare. The Auto Motion 120Hz had a slightly improved image on my up-converted DVD source, though it'll take a Blu-ray test to be sure.

The best part was when I hooked my computer up and output at 1920x1080. My desktop looked crisp and clean, and after playing Unreal Tournament I've decided that this TV will also be my new computer monitor.

Even standard definition DVDs (played in a Samsung up-converter) look beautiful. I watched an episode of House and nearly soiled myself. The contrast, brightness, and vivid colors (I've never seen such a blue sky) were breathtaking.

I recommend this TV for any gamer, A/V geek, or lover of high quality movies. It's definitely a steal at the price, as compared to the 8-series LCD panel Samsung put out recently

I should have bought this during Xmas but I assumed the price would keep dropping, I was wrong. I had to wait another 4 months until it dropped back down to $2,300. I snagged it up without hesitation. Though I was aware of the dead pixel line that plagued the other reviewers, I was going to take a chance (plus it came with a free Samsung upconverter and free shipping, which was not offered before).

It arrived via CEVA freight (formerly Eagle shipping) a week later. They delivered it first thing in the morning, unboxed it, put it on my stand and powered it up for me. No damage and no dead pixels. Boy was i relieved.

I don't have a Bluray yet but the Comcast HD movies look great! Even the Blue Planet DVD version with the upconverter looked amazing!

I hope it'll last. I kept the box just in case.

Great technology, and a fantastic TV while it works. Iwas truly amazed at the video quality from this unit. Unfortunately great ideals are not followed up by superior materails and workmanship or customer service. After 90 days, my unit like many others I have read about began to develop a line f dead pixles in the screen. It started as a 2 inch vertical line to the right side of the panel, and within a few days grew from top to bottom. Amazon was great, they did what they could do, but they are not the manaufacturer. When I contacted Samsung, I requested an exchange as it is only 90 days old and I thought a repair would not be justified. They will not stand behind the product, they will only send a sublet repair tech to my home to replace the LCD panel, and I have to have it removed fromt the wall and reinstalled at my own expense. The Bottom line is, stick with Sony or Panasonic. These units have superior workmanship, value and durability. To send someone to my home, make me pay $200.00

We saw the LNT5271F at Best Buy and fell in love with the amazing picture. You feel like you are actually there rather than watching the action. Everyone who sees our Samsung is jealous. Can't see how any TV can have a better picture, no matter what brand or price. Although the sound is very good, we went the whole nine yards and added a Yamaha surround sound system and a PlayStation 3 Blu-ray system. We ordered our Samsung online from Amazon and were very pleased with the price ($1,000 cheaper than Best Buy) and delivery. Don't be fooled by other online companys. If they are cheaper than Amazon, they are dropping your TV at the curb or not including everything with the TV. (One company wanted $300 for the pedestal stand that is shown in the picture. Guess we were supposed to take turns holding it up while the other person watched.) This is the best purchase we have ever made. We are in TV-viewing heaven!

I was sold on Plasma. I was going to buy a Panasonic Plasma, but a salesman showed me this model, and I was impressed. I would have never considered an LCD prior, and now I own one.

The blacks are so black, the whites are so bright, the 120hz makes everything so fluid and flawless. It is gloriously big; we have a 15' x 12' living room, and it is just perfect, nice and big but not too big.

My Playstation 3 plays awesome on this TV. The Bluray movies are great, and I cannot recommend this TV enough.

OK, I was a HUGE skeptic of buying a large electronics purchase through Amazon (or any other online retailer for that matter). My search for the new TV to drive my home theater began several weeks ago at Best Buy. For the money Samsung clearly was the best picture and even their $2000 TVs had better depth, contrast and "true" blacks than the more prominent $5000 units. I found and decided on a 46 inch Samsung, then found a 52 inch Samsung T5265f and waited for a salesman to help me, after 20 minutes of no help I left. This set would have cost me $2250 with tax.

During my time at Best Buy I saw the T5271 and it was priced at $3650 (w/tax). While the picture was SUPERB and the 120hz processor was an amazing improvement over the T5265 but had trouble justifying the additional $1,400. After leaving Best Buy, I was determined to at least search online to see what deals were online for the T5271. To my suprise, Amazon had the best deal at $2,575 (NO TAX/FREE Shipping). I thought this was

I wanted to write a review as I had read alot on this set before I bought and many of the reviews in my opinion where not true. I originally bought a Samsung LNT5265F and exchanged it for the 12Ohz MODEL/LNT5271F because I wanted the characters to jump out at me. I am not unhappy at all. I read a number of reviews complaining that the Samsung ruined the cinematic experience. IT DOES NOT! You have a choice of viewing options. There is a menu selection that lets you adjust the speed of the motion. Very high will give you a live look to the film, which is what I was looking for ...blu-rays and even non HD DVDs look WOW!. Some buyers do not like it as much.. as some of the cheesier computer imaging they put in some movies is exposed for what it is- lousy. You can always turn down the speed the motion plus feature to even out the imaging and make the computer graphics blend better and still have a great picture. I don't see where these folks are having issues. All of my viewing has

TLDR Version: Buy it, you won't be dissapointed.

Now for the real review:

I've researched the Samsung LCD's for a while, I was going to go with the 4665, but i wanted the higher contrast ratio, and bigger is always better, so I Ended up buying the 5271.

I Ordered the TV on a Friday night. It shipped the following Monday from Reno, NV. It was here in San Diego on Thursday, but they didn't have an opening for delivery that day, so they delivered at 8am Friday.

They called me 30 min before they headed my way to make sure I was home. Two men carried the TV up to my apartment (It was too big to fit in the elevator i guess). They were very nice. They helped me unpack it, set it on the TV stand, and turn it on to make sure it worked. Once we had a picture, I signed the papers. They advised me to keep the box in case i need to ship it back, but i don't have enough room for a huge box like that. They said no problem and took it out with them. Overall A+ for Eagle shipping (now known as Ceva

Samsung LNT5271F 52" Diagonal 1080p HDTV LCD
Just a quick summary: I've had the 5271F since early December 2007. The delivery by Eagle Logistics was on time and the display arrived in perfect shape. I have a 1080p/24hz HD-DVD player hooked up through HDMI and the image is great. My computer is also hooked up using a DVI to HDMI cable. The image displayed had an overscan problem. (The screen resolution when set at 1920x1080p showed only 1768x992.) After I changed the name tag on the 5271F from HDMI1 to PC, the overscan issue was resolved. Now it displays the full 1920x1080p properly. For watching television programs, it has an optical out for your audio receiver to get 5.1 audio. It's a nice HDTV.

I receivied this TV on 13th Feb, 2008. On arrival, the box sealing is broken. When we opened the box, the TV cover is broken and the LCD panel protecting cover is missing. Informed amzon about the same with in an hour of arrival the TV and Amazon is refusing to accept the truth. The TV shows full vertical lines on the Digital channels. I requested amazon about this and they are refusing to replace my TV and putting me into more trouble and asking me to contact Samsung for a repair. After contacting Samsung, I came to know through the the tchnician that the mother board of the TV is having problems and need to be replaced. Why do we need to provide Samsung case ID to replace the TV by Amazon? I asked Amzon the same and Amazon is not replying to these question. This looks like to me a very shaddy operation.

As per Samsung support, the definition of the "Defective TV" means the TV cannot be serviceable and my TV is serviceable, so it's not a defective TV. Very rude samsung support.

When the cable guy installed the HD-DVR...he said "Wow!"...and he sees HD TVs every day. I am very impressed with the picture both from HD cable and from HD upconverting DVD.

Amazon had a great price...the delivery was good, on time...all smiles when we watch this set.

YUP!!! "dead pixel lines" i purchased this tv from amazon. after the 30 day return expired i burned the box and everything seemed to be going well, then one day i started to see these small colorful lines on the screen, i thought the grand kids had marked it with a magic marker, but oh no, they started to spread like a virus. now the lines have extended from top to bottom and the number of them is growing.

i called samsung who gave me the name of a samsung service center that was about 100 miles from my house that they were going to send for repair. i called them and sent them digital pictures of the problem and we did some initial diagnostics. this company never got the approval to come fix the tv, so i called samsung back, they said they would not pay for the authorized samsung service center to travel to my house to fix the tv. but that they were going to send a local company not a authorized service center. the company they are now sending out is a sony dealer and a authorized sony

I waited to write this review because this TV stopped working only after 4 months of use. While it was working the picture quality was really good, but I literally have to wait a few weeks for it to be repaired and feel as though for the money, something this expensive shouldn't stop working (no picture image, just lines across the screen) in just 4 months. I've had Sony and Panasonic big screen TVs that have lasted years without any problems. Just wish I had gone with my gut and bought a Sony instead of a Samsung . . . paying a little more for the Sony would have been the better investment.

I agonized over this tv for weeks. I kept going back and forth between it and the Sony XBR4 52", which was approximately $1K more expensive. My biggest concerns were the reported glare with this set, but ultimately decided to take the risk and go for it (couldn't really afford the extra just to worry about glare).

I am very glad I did. This set is beautiful. It's been out of the box for 5 days, and I can honestly say I tear up a bit when a football game comes on. The color looks much better than the XBR4 did (at least at the Circuit City display). The glare is not really a problem at all. Now, this is coming from 6 years on a 27" crt, so anything is going to look awesome. But, the shine on the screen is no worse than the crt we had, and no worse than my father-in-law's plasma. I really don't notice it at all unless I look for it, or unless the screen goes dark for a moment. Most of the time the screen is bright enough to shine right through it. This is in a room with quite a few windows,

I am not one for reviews, but:

This HDTV is perfect. My neighbors are amazed and one will order a smaller version of the "71" series for his TV room, actually a small den.

A fast moving football leaves no "trail" and reflections are not noticeable, but I sometimes turn off a lamp behind my recliner when there are many dark scenes.

The built-in speakers are OK, but I do not care because I have a separate 5.1 surround sound system directly connected to a satellite receiver. HDMI connections cut the rat's nest behind the stand.

Eagle delivery was earlier than predicted, but they called a couple days ahead and were right on the arranged time. Two guys carried the TV into the living room, unpacked it, put it on the prearranged stand, turned it on and a test mode showed the unit to be working. They offered to take the packing away, but I decided to keep it in case of problems. I trashed the packing the next week. I gave the delivery guys $5 tip each and suggested they have a beer on me after

The picture is beautiful --- even with SD (standard definition) and normal DVDs. Frankly, because of this, I could care less about having HDTV or Blu-rays. I have my PS3 (HDMI), Wii (RCA), media center (PC), and cable line (coaxial) plugged into it. All four look great!!! As you can see, I use it for gaming (PC, Wii, PS3 --- all with no lag!), DVD movies (via PS3) and TV/ DVR recordings.

For months, I was going to get the Sony XBR 52" LCD, but then I saw this one, and I bought it in a BLINK of an eye. And you can't lose if you buy it here on Amazon: great delivery service, 30-day price guarantee, and in most places, there are no shipping or tax fees (this alone will save you a bundle). This is by far the biggest and most expensive purchase I've ever made here on Amazon, and it was PAINLESS! :)

After a lot of research and visual comparison, I decided to take the plunge and bought the LNT5271 from Amazon on Oct 31st. I tried to buy locally, but no one could even get close to the price. Amazon's order page showed that my TV had changed hands to Eagle on Nov 1st, less than 50 miles from my home. Long story short, they scheduled for Wed. Nov 7th between noon and 4. I had hoped it would be sooner since I knew it was very close, but oh well. Lots of time for the anticipation to build.

At about 11am on the 7th the Eagle driver calls me (as I had requested) and told me he would be at my house in about an hour. The truck rolled up at 11:45. Delivery man, maybe 5'10", 180 lbs knocks on my door. Nice, professional guy, unfortunately working alone. Had it been my wife at home there is no way this TV could have been safely delivered by this one man. The weight is not outrageous, but the weight combined with size makes it impossible for anyone other than a VERY strong person to safely handle

In the summer of 2000, after a couple months of research, I went out and bought two pioneer elite 53" 1080i rear projection sets along with paradigm reference studio series speakers and an elite receiver for each. Those two systems have kept me more than happy for several years and I wasn't about to buy a new tv until something spectacular was available.

The samsung lnt5271f caught my attention due to the great price coupled with near perfect reviews. I went to circuit city to check it out and was very impressed. They were asking $4500 + tax and Amazon had it listed at $3286 no tax & free shipping. After seeing it next to the sony xbr4 I can honestly say the samsung has better picture quality for more than $300 less than the sony. I was also curious about the lnt5281f but one reviewer stated that the difference was negligable. I immediately pulled the trigger and bought two of the 5271's. I was originally going to buy one along with a 61" DLP to save some money but the picture

I have had the Samsung LNT5271 in my house for several weeks and I am still amazed at the quality of the picture every time I watch it. Over the past year, I have done extensive research and spent lots of time at Best Buy and Circuit City comparing the various offerings. Up until this point, I have always been a "Sony" purchaser and initially I was leaning toward purchasing the XBR5. I would have purchased this set over the LNT5265 but during my last visit to Circuit City, one of the salepeople showed me the new LNT5271 and I was blown away by the colors and crisp picture. It was set up next to a XBR5 and had the same feed. In my opinion, there was a substantial difference. The other factor that swayed my decision was the larger size of the Sony and the glass bezel they insist on using around their XBR sets. My wife took one look at the Sony and declared it would not be coming home with us. Sony does not build an XBR quality TV without the bezel but regardless I would have chosen
