This is the most disappointed I have ever been in a game since I started playing video games in the 80s. The graphics look designed for a 3 year old, the control scheme is awkward, the playbooks are nonexistent, the stadiums and fields don't look accurate, and you have to celebrate with the remote after touchdowns to get the stupid looking kiddie mii characters fired up to gain momentum. The quarters are defaulted to 3 minutes and there are no replays or scenes between plays - after a tackle, you are already huddled up again. I unfortunately threw away my receipt so I couldn't take this garbage back, so I went and bought the PS2 version which is totally fine. If you love college football and have a Wii, don't buy this - get it instead on PS2, PS3, or Xbox 360.

After years of making the market standard for sports games, EA missed badly on this one.
I do like the passing controls (hold a direction on the D-pad or 'A' and make a passing motion), and juking is fun as well (flick the nunchuk in the direction you want to juke). Play-calling is a little sloppy, but it gets the job done. A point-and-click system would be great, but unfortunately they didn't go that route and we're left to navigate with the analog stick.
Other than that, though, this game was a major disappointment. The graphics are terrible even by Wii standards (worse than PS2, which should not happen, ever). There are some tack-ons that I assume are related to All-Play, like shaking the remote after a touchdown to get the crowd into it. The screen fills with stars and there is a sound effect like a cup filling with, uh, some liquid to go along with it. Not cool.
I played as Nebraska, and the first thing I noticed was that even though the screen said I was playing at Memorial

First of all, I have been an EA sports gamer for a while now... ever since Madden and NCAA football has been developed. If you look over my past reviews I have written, you will see that I don't hold my opinion back any in regards to hammering a game title. Personally, I feel EA in regards to XBOX360 has gotten cheap and lacked quality over the years. So read this review taking that into account.
As for this game, I have to say, "ABOUT TIME!" EA's NCAA football is finely getting back to the level of its glory days in regards to quality and new inventive game options. For example, there is a new bluff option in the game. Usually when you pick a play and your team is on the field, you want to check what that play looks like before you snap the ball. The problem with doing that is the other team knows what you are calling right before you snap. The new bluff feature allows you to show multiple bluff plays on the field - both runs and passes. You can show multiple bluff plays and throw in

Ok I was all hyped up to get this game and told myself buy it when the price goes down. I couldn't wait!! I got and rushed home to play it and upon playing I was awwed by the stunning graphics on both HD and regular TV's. The game play was just phenominal, the online dynasty is what I've been waitng for, etc. etc. I could go on but let's keep it short and simple. So why the 4 star rating if this game is so awsome? There is alot of repetative things again like commentary I mean c'mon I get tired of hearing Lee Corso ramble on and on about the same things I have been hearing for the last 5 years (Gooo with the option!) I mean c'mon change it up a little bit for pete's sake... Heck for our sake!

I was really looking forward to getting this game. I was really disappointed today when I opened my package and started the game. The graphics are absolutely HORRIBLE. They are an insult to 1998 graphics. I don't even know where to start. First, the crowd is completely flat. The graphics are similar to a game from the mid 90's, and for that reason it is almost impossible to play. Even the field looks terrible. Yes, there are a lot of stadiums to choose from, but with bad graphics, who cares? Ok, now for some of the specifics.
Yes, you can shake the wii remote to control certain actions, such as on offense, you can snap the ball, pass the ball and evade tackles by shaking the remote. Also on defense you can block the pass, give a big hit or rush the QB all by shaking the wii remote. Overall, I would say that part of the game isn't that bad, but the controls are very simple. (Note to EA, buy a copy of PES Soccer. Copy their player controls. You will have a lot of happy customers...)

When EA announced the first NCAA game for a Nintendo console since 2005, I was ecstatic. Being a mostly Nintendo guy myself, I've been longing for an NCAA game for four years now. I even bought a PSP last year exclusively for the NCAA game. So, naturally I pre-ordered NCAA 09 for the Wii from here at Amazon. It just shipped Monday and I received it today, so I was dying to try it out.
I started with the "Play Now" mode just to get the hang of it. On the Wii, they've added a new "All Play" feature that pretty much allows anyone to be able to play it. It's a simplified version of the control scheme that pretty much uses a shake of the Wiimote to perform all the actions. That's fine and the fact that you can still use a more traditional scheme as well is good. However, it seems like they added this in lieu of all the good features.
After some research online, I found that the Wii version has no online content at all. Granted, it's Nintendo's fault as much as it is EA's, but it's

First thing...this game is far and away a superior title to last years horrendous offering, and don't get me started about the 07 version. Gameplay is much improved with the game having a more natural feel and flow to it overall. You actually get a sense that you have some control over what you're doing, and what you may do next, when it comes to running with the ball. The previous versions were nothing more than an advanced guessing game with some less than intuitive button mashing going on to try and get to the next level. With 09, you can see the play developing and can react accordingly. The passing game benefits from this as well...I no longer feel immediate pressure to get the ball in the air the second I snap it. There is no issue with setting up to throw and finding a receiver for the most part. Of course you don't have all day either, and it's this solid balance that gives it that more authentic feel while running your offense.
Defensively...there is still alot of guess work involved...especially

I pre-ordered this game back in December 2007, so you can imagine how excited I was to receive it. At first, I loved it. I had no idea how sedentary I was until I tracked my steps with the pedometer. I thought it was very cool that the pedometer hooked up directly to the DS and uploaded the steps automatically. I found the challenges cute and helpful. I found myself moving around alot more to get my steps in. It has been a pretty good motivator, but 2 weeks later I have not lost any weight.
The lack of weight loss, however is not my complaint. The pedometer itself is chunky and obtrusive and yesterday the clip on it broke. When I first received it, it was extremely difficult to clip on my waistband. I think that a spring-loaded clip would be much more durable, but the clip on it is basically immovable. The good news is that you can still input your steps in the game manually, but now I get to shell out some more money on a new pedometer.

I picked this game up to replace last year's version, and as a huge fan of college football I was pleased to see some neat additions (such as icing the kicker) that became a big part of the lexicon during last year's crazy season.
If you've played any of the games in the NCAA series, you know what to expect. Some new features for this year's version include "celebrating with the mascot" where you can run over to the mascot after running a touchdown and perform an animated celebration (mascot worshiping you/dancing around/etc.). The sideline players/cheerleaders/coaches actually exist this year, unlike in NCAA 08 when they mysteriously weren't on the sidelines during a game. You'll see cheerleaders dancing, players on the sidelines getting out of your way, etc. so the stadium atmosphere is much more alive than it was in last year's version.
Some new gameplay options are tweaks to the way running plays work. No longer can you just click 'go' and push forward, you can now find and exploit

It's been quite a while since I've played a NASCAR game that I've liked, dating back to the old PC game that was much more simulation that simple game. Electronic Arts (EA) has the license for NASCAR games on console systems, so if they don't deliver or if you aren't happy with what they have delivered you're left doing what I've had to do over the last several years -- skip it. Not so this season! Finally NASCAR racing that is challenging, yet not overly so, and still F-U-N.
In previous incarnations, at least over the last few years, the game was challenging, but not in a good way. For example, in NASCAR08 beginners (like I normally am) were easily frustrated as the computer controlled (artificial intelligence or a.i.) drivers were very aggressive and would spin out human drivers in an instant. Instead of avoiding wrecks, the a.i. drivers would simply barrel on through the human driver and end your race. NASCAR07 had problems and frustrations of it's own and failed to deliver a product

It's Rock Band. It's fun. For those of you expecting the PS3 or Xbox 360 versions: why would you? If you own a Wii, and have seen the other platforms, don't expect the same level of graphics. Just a few bullet points:
- Just like the guitar controller is hard for guitarists, the drums are tricky for drummers for two reasons - most drummers don't read music on a kit and the pads are counter-intuitive from a typical kit. You get over it though.
- The lack of online play / ability to download games astounds me. Shame on you, developers.
- There's nothing really "Wii" about it. In other words, there's no motion capture components at all. Having wired drums and mic is really dumb for a platform that relies on being wireless.
- Despite the negativity, it's still entertaining as all-get-out.

I've played some really bad games in the past, but I have to admit that AITD has jumped up into the top 5.
GAMPLAY: Absolutely horrid.
GRAPHICS: Actually, pretty good.
SOUND: There's sound in this game other than grunts?
Okay so, hands-down the absolute worst controls in any game -- ever! The first five minutes of this game alone, will have you wanting to throw your controller across the room! Just wait until you have to fight an enemy. Moving you character is such a chore that any hopes of enjoyment are soon done away with.
In short, I simply can not understand how a game that has been delayed as many times as this, can still be this bad.
TRUST ME! Save your money!

The challenges aren't always 100% possible, but you don't have to take on a challenge...well unless you ask for the surprise challenge. If you take one and it's too daunting, there's no penalty. It just tells you that to try and pick challenges that fit your lifestyle. I'm 8 months pregnant and I'm managing just fine.
It encourages you to exercise and watch your food intake and based on questions asked at the beginning, it gives you a goal to reach for. It's not an exact science as sometimes you have to fudge the food tracker, but it's a great little start for on the go.
The pedometer isn't the best. It's bulky and I find that it keeps resetting if I bump into something. But here's good news...you don't have to use it. If you want to get something better, the one that comes with the game is a good start. And you can manually enter steps, it will prompt you that the pedometer isn't inserted and then you just use the +/- to add or remove steps.
I like that it gives you a goal

Although I've been a heavy shopper of Amazon for years, I've written very few reviews - mostly due to laziness. But after playing with Rock Band for just over a week, and noticing a lot of the negative reviews, mostly due to comparisons to versions of the same game on other platforms, i felt i really ought to provide some of my feedback.
I don't own an XBOX or a PS3. I wish i did - but.. i'm too cheap, and my kids are still too young (3 and 7) for the type of games that are popular on those systems. I've settled for the Wii. Although we've been quite happy with Wii Sports, none of the other games have really kept our interest beyond a couple of days. (granted, i've only attempted to purchase games that would appeal to both my 7 year old and all the adults around - that's pretty hard to do)... until now. Rock Band has to be one of the best "team" oriented games I've played in a long time. Its a game that has kept friends of ours over very late trying to pass the various songs.

This game is terrible. I rented this at the local blockbuster where they had several copies just sitting on the shelf. I decided to try renting before splurging to buy. Glad I did. There are many deficiencies with how this game is designed, as listed below:
1) It forces you to use the nunchuck which is an utter nuisance while trying to swing the racquet during play. I was forced to just use wrist movements with my right hand, while trying to point the player using the joystick with my left hand. Did the game programmers even play once on this game before they released it?
2) Like other sports games (tiger woods golf for example) on the wii, this game focuses more on the players than the game. You see the losing players throw and toss their racquets after every game with curses and frowns on their faces. This gets old real fast and is a real annoyance because I wanted to just focus on tennis and not the player attitudes. No way to turn off the player attitudes either. This makes it even

GAMEPLAY: Presumably okay for multi-player addicts.
GRAPHICS: Average, flat grounds and environments; nothing to write home about.
SOUND: Again, average -- nothing that we haven't heard before.
I bought this game because the trailers looked fantastic, and the self-proclaimed best single-player ever.
DON'T BE FOOLED!
This is a multi-player game only! I had to spend sixty-dollars to learn this! If you like multi-players, then this is your average run-of-the-mill multi-player. However, if you are like me and, really only enjoy playing single-player, consider yourself warned, the single-player campaign consists of mulit-player maps with AI competing against you. No bosses, no breath-taking missions, just capture the flag against AI.
I've never been so disappointed...Oh wait, then there's Alone in the Dark...

I was pleased with this game, overall. The controls are quite simple, just basically gas, brake, and steer with a skid option thrown in. The controls are clean and don't feel sluggish or sloppy. Very easy to just pick up and enjoy. The championship mode is nice and thorough without being ridiculously complicated. It's a little on the easy side, but it's still very enjoyable. Good solid, harmless fun for all.

Unless you are buying this game for a child 8 or under, just don't do it. Now I am not saying graphics on the DS are mind blowing like they are on the PS3. But the graphics SUCK!!! They are the worst I have seen on the DS, especially for the hefty $30 price tag. This will end up in the bargain bin VERY quickly. The levels are all exactly the same, they just turn them around for you. All you do is compact trash, throw it at a switch and repeat. OVER and OVER and OVER again. There are no extras. This is, by far, one of the worst games I have played on the DS. If you must have the Wall-E game, buy it for the PS3. It's quite easy and my boyfriend beat it in a day, but the graphics are better, Wall-E actually looks like Wall-E and there is more meat to the game. I wanted to love this game. I really did. I saw the movie the day it came out and had to have it. I am thankful I just rented it and didn't waste $30. For $30 you can get a decent DS game.

As a person who has struggled with eating disorders in the past and is looking to improve her health habits without getting mired in the muck of "weight goals", I was uncertain about this game at first. I have been afraid to start a health plan because I was afraid that it might get out of my control and I would end up with a recurrence of my illness. But I decided to try this game, partly because of some of the complaints of people who had played it, such as the fact that you don't enter your intake in precise Weight Watchers-style way. Keeping lists of exact "inputs" and "outputs" is a characteristic of anorexia; I had several notebooks full of that info and it is a slippery slope once you start doing it. Another complaint was that if your BMI is normal and you are trying to lose weight, this game won't help you do it. If the game helped you lose weight when you were at a "normal BMI", it would be fostering an eating disorder, so I'm glad it asks you to maintain your weight by eating

I bought this game not knowing what to expect. It is fun and helpful in many ways. The 'coach' is a cute stick figure who motivates you through funny sounds, expressions, and actions. The distance 'reward' system is well-done. For every task or challenge you successfully complete, you get mileage which eventually adds up to walking The Great Wall of China or whatever. It is a good, graphic way to illustrate your progress.
Now for the downside....You have to enter all physical activity & food you eat on the day it happens...no going back the next day to enter that just before midnight snack or last minute exercise. This is tremendously inconvenient & unhelpful. It negates much of the value of the program for me. The other unhelpful thing is that you account for your calories by selecting from groups of general foods; if you ate something unusual, you have to take your best guess as to its equivalent.
As many have noted, the supplied pedometer is clunky & falls off constantly, but
