CORSAIR Corsair Flash Voyager USB 2.0 - USB flash drive - 8 GB
This USB thumb drive has a really nice feel to it. It works in Windows Vista perfectly, the drivers load automatically.

I measured the following performance:
Write single 717MB video file - 120 seconds - 5.975MB/s
Read single 717MB video file - 30 seconds - 23.9MB/s
Write 455 files (727MB total) JPG files - 150 seconds - 4.85MB/s
Read 455 files (727MB total) JPG files - 37 seconds - 19.65MB/s

I think this is very nice for the money.

HP TouchSmart All-In-One Desktop with Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5850 - Black/Espresso
I got my HP iQ506 yesterday from HP Store. Fine folks. Matched Amazon price/free shipping. So far I like
it. The slim keyboard fits nicely under the display, so you can slide it in and out. Both the remote mouse
and remote control are nice to have. I can't get the touchscreen sound to work when I touch it and I downloaded
the most recent updates for my touch computer and it bombed on me. Had to rebuild computer. Not sure
what happened. Will edit later. I think one of the updates bombed it. All in all, not to bad, but sill missing
the 'wow' factor for windows touch computer. Probably will upgrade it later for more bells and whistles. WMP
kept stalling and locking up on me. Not sure why. DVD movie plays ok, but froze a couple of times???

HP TouchSmart All-In-One Desktop with Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5850 - Black/Espresso
I bought the IQ506 yesterday mainly for the form factor (all in one with built in speakers) to fit my desk area.

Setup was easy - Pull it out of the box, plug it in and turn it on. It did take about 20 minutes after starting to setup Vista but all went well and I was up an running easily.

I didn't expect much of the touch screen and wasn't the main reason I purchased it. With that being said, I will say that so far I am impressed with the touch screen. The comments about the screen being jerky and slow seem to be overblown - I didn't experience this. In fact, I was quite surprised when I used IE and browsed with just my fingers on the screen. It worked really well - with the 22" monitor the links were large enough that I clicked correctly on the link most times. If you're expecting an iPhone type touchscreen experience you'll probably be disappointed. However, I wouldn't sell this touchscreen short yet. I am quite impressed by the screen and I expect to use it more than I thought

Logitech MX Air Wireless Laser Mouse
First of all, I must say that I have become such a huge fan of Logitech through the years. Over a decade ago (that's like 30 years in web time!) I had this little Connectix camera ball (QuickCam) on my monitor that shot black and white images and became the biggest perv-sensation through CU-SeeMe... and then Logitech comes along, takes over, and things have just been getting better and better. They have set the standard of what computers and the internet is all about. Ironically I was a product tester for Connectix in about 1994, so I've been following them for a long time.

In recent months, I have been amazed at the QuickCam 9000, the beauty and function of remote controls and their Harmony series, and my favorite ... Squeezebox Duet Network Music System ... seriously rocks!

Now we have the MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse... something we are just taking too much for granted at what this is doing. It's not just a mouse, it's a freakin' light saber. Setup was easy, the usb

D-Link Wireless-N Router with 4-Port Switch
I guess you do get what you pay for. A wireless N router for $49.99, great deal, right? WRONG. This thing is garbage. After calls to support and reading up on it I have Rev A of this router and I cannot speak for Rev B. I lose connectivity, sometimes in the middle of long downloads on the wireless G and also lose connectivity on the wired port. Updating the firmware from D-Links website locked the ting up and required some sequence of holding down the resent pin while unplugging and re-plugging it back in. Now whenever i need to re-boot it to regain connectivity to my modem all the settings are set to default, including the admin password and the wireless network settings.

This is getting returned tomorrow.

Iomega 120GB Hi-Speed USB 2.0/FireWire400 Black Series Portable Hard Drive
Very versatile peripheral; ideal for back-up or in my case great for transferring large blocks of data to & from different computers. With so many of todays input devices wanting a USB 2.0 port, this handy, dandy device with the option of Fire-Wire 400 frees up valuable USB ports. To protect your investment I recommend the Caselogic PHDC-1 Small EVA External Hard Drive Case for those moving the drive around & about.

Western Digital My Book Essential 1TB External USB 2.0 Hard Drive
I bought this hard drive for my XPS 1530, and it has been nothing but problems. 1/2 the time my computer won't find the device, and if it does it loses connectivity with it. I tried the tech support, but they offered no help. The usb won't even work with the drive. I'm sure they're better drives out there. Take the time and find them. You'll be glad you did.

Western Digital My Book Home 1TB External FireWire/USB 2.0/eSATA Hard Drive
I was supposed to buy the other Western Digital 1 TB but accidentally bought this one and it happened just like the others said. Plug it in light comes on but nothing else happens and tried it on multiple computers. I tried it about 100 times determined to get my money's worth and through out all those tries it showed up on the computer exactly 1 time. Convinced that it had started working I dragged a couple files into it (like a minuscule 200 mb... I'm no fool!) and left it alone for like a day and lo and behold the next day the power light was off for some odd reason (computer was still on) and it went back to being dead. I'm upset...This is the type of stuff I'm talking about....don't make no sense. Oh well it's going back to the store where I bought it...cuz that one that I have is Gobbage. Maybe I'll try a 500 gig even though I don't think that's enough.

Wacom Cintiq 12.1" Widescreen Interactive Pen Display
At first glance, it's an amazing product. It's a great size, it's thin, bright, with nice buttons and a nice pen.
I just got mine and am using it to work with as a normal tablet (to control the cursor on my main screen), and also to work directly on and draw/paint.
I use a 21" Cintiq at work and also have a 6x8 Intuos 3 tablet that I used before getting this new 12" Cintiq.

The 12" Cintiq has a lot of flaws - so much so that I think I may have to return it, which is really disappointing.
First. Though it's a "12-inch" screen, I'd say it's more like a 10". Why? Because when you move the cursor to the edges of the screen - a little over an inch away from each border, the cursor starts to shake tremendously. This simply doesn't fly when you're trying to keep a steady hand and get a good line while drawing or painting. It's also very annoying when you're just trying to click on something in the menu bar at the top of the screen. The cursor looks like it's spazzing out and it's really

Samsung SyncMaster 245T Widescreen LCD Monitor-24IN LCD 1000 1 1920X1200 245T MNTRVGA DVI 6MS CVBS SVID COM
Warning: When considering any widescreen monitor be sure your computer's video card supports the monitor's "native" resolution. The native resolution is the one setting that produces the best display on any given monitor. All flat screen monitors have a native resolution. In the case of this monitor you need a setting of 1920 X 1200. See your control panel/display settings. Be aware this is a tough requirement and many computers can not support it. Even new (budget) computers probably won't support this setting. Be sure to check that your computor supports a display resolution of 1920 x 1200. I understood this requirment prior to my purchase and upgraded my video card accordingly (cost = $120 plus a few hours of my time). My budget computer was 6 months old.

Pluses: This monitor has a very wide viewing angle and you can stand above it or move side to side and see a near perfect image. That may not be important to you but keep in mind that this feature adds considerably to this montor's

Western Digital My Book Essential 1TB External USB 2.0 Hard Drive
I just want to write and let the world know what kind of company this is. I have owned 3 Western digital (WD) hard drives. All 3 have not lasted longer then 2 years, the most recent has only lasted 1 yr.. 4 months. But the kicker of this situation is the external hard drive WD make have a warranty of 1 year. but the internal Hard drives that are inside the units have a 3-5 year warranty. So I called WD because the hard drive inside the case went bad. So this is how the call went.
The phone rang, and I got contacted to someone over sea's and could barely speak english. I told him my problem and he said sorry it's out of warranty and there is nothing he could do. So i said the hard drive inside the unit has a 3 year warranty. he said well you bought the external hard drive so you only get a 1 year warranty. I was going no where with him so I asked to speak to a manager.
Mind you it's bad enough I lost all my info, but now I couldn't get a replacement. so the manager comes on

HP Pavilion dv6870us Notebook-Turion 64 TL-64 Gold 15.4
Strengths:
Screen = Large Widescreen 15.4 in; Battery life = Long; Remote control for watching movies; Smart touch-sensitive multimedia controls; Good speakers; Dual audio outputs; Bluetooth and infrared connectivity; Multi-card reader; PRICE = REALLY LOW $600 after $185 rebate at Office Depot!

Weaknesses:
HDD = Small 160 GB; OS = Occupies too much memory Win Vista; USB Ports = 3; Win Vista does not come on a reloadable CD/DVD; No webcam.

After surveying more than 10 medium-sized compact laptops, I have come to the conclusion that this is the best available at this time (June 2008) in its class.
Sony's were a definite No-No because of their cost factor. Gateway, Acer and ASUS were on the other side of the cost spectrum which worried me! I have used 3 DELL laptops till now (and they have all been pretty good), so I wanted to try something else. Toshiba and HP were left to fight it out!

My minimum requirements were:
1. At least 250 GB HDD.
2. At least 2 GB of RAM.
3. At least 15.4 inch

HP Pavilion Tx2120us Entertainment Notebook PC
HP Pavilion TX2120US 12.1" Laptop (AMD Turion 64 X 2 Dual Core TL-64 Processor, 4 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Drive, DVD Drive, Vista Premium)

First the negative.

1. Because the HP Pavillion TX2120US comes pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit operating system this has limited this hardwares ability to run some of the best Tablet PC software out there, such as Education Pak, Ink Desktop 2.0 etc... which are all Microsoft Products. I hope in the near future that Microsoft updates their software to run on their new 64 bit system.

2. Stylus: It's not that the stylus is super cheap but there are other stylus' out there that are definitely higher quality. ;)

3. Sound: Sound isn't horrible but it definitely doesn't deserve to get a "Great" rating either. Fact is anybody buying this tablet should know that the fingerpring reader, the screen, several buttons, the mic, the camera, and the sound all come from the screen which pivots on a very small joint. Which by the way is not cheap

Western Digital My Book Home 1TB External FireWire/USB 2.0/eSATA Hard Drive
This drive automatically spins down when not being used, and there is no way to disable this feature. Unfortunately on my computer under Windows, this means that the drive disappears in "My Computer" and the Disk Management tools if I don't use the drive for extended periods of time. The only way to get the computer to recognize the drive again is to power cycle the drive manually by pushing the power button on the back, it will not automatically "wake up" when I try to use the drive.

Western Digital's only recommendation was that I switch to a slower USB/Firewire connection, as their "button manager" software can keep the drive alive. This feature is not supported on the faster eSATA connection, however. (If that's the case, why did I pay more for an eSATA-capable drive?) At least the company did do an RMA exchange of my drive, just in case it was a problem with the drive or other components, but the replacement had the same issue too. This seems to be a "feature".

Their tech support

Epson Stylus R1900 Photo Printer-STYLUS PHOTO R1900 5760X1440DPIPRNTUSB 2.0 13X19 8CLR CD PRN
I have received this printer in good shape and on time. This printer does just a little better than a HP printer on resolution. This printer can make up to 13x19 inch prints and does a good job on all. I just wish the ink catridges were larger and it would tell me how much inck was in the catridge on the label. HP catridges are about three times larger but they cost three times as much too. The price was right for me for the printer.

Canon Pixma MP520 All-in-one Multifunction Inkjet Photo Printer
Epson, I expected, contained a streak of altruism in their business plan. However after just over 2 years a perfectly workable printer ceased to function---the LED display disappeared which made the thing impossible to program. I also found myself repacing ink at an inordinate regularity so I began to do my homework.
After weeks of study, and review reading, I chose my Canon Pixma520. Seemed that I could find none who would knock the product and many who regaled its virtues.
The price was right, many underscored the lengnth of time that ink "tanks" lasted and simplicity seemed to be the watchword.
So far after two months, I have found that I made the correct choice. The printer, easthethically, is a proud addition to my office and has been a pleasure to operate. I do a great deal of digital picture taking using Picasa as my photo storage. The transfer to and from the printer is simple and seamless. The image quality is very good. The transfer, from printer, to computer via memory

Logitech MX Air Wireless Laser Mouse
It looks great, it's light, feels great, but it is not perfect. I have not had the re-centering problem many others have written about. But the mouse does feel to me that it is made of cheep plastic, though it works fine and nothing has broke. And it took me a while to get use to it ... heck I am still getting use to it and immediately grab my normal mouse for those hours when I am able. I do like the fact that all the buttons light up.

I have to spend almost half of my day in bed hooked up to machines and this air mouse comes in handy since I am stuck in place and cannot reach the computer. I found it best for using it to listen too my music or watch movies on the computer. But I never use it when I am to remove the wires and raise myself high enough to use a normal mouse. Now lets see if Logitech can get a keyboard to operate with an air mouse...

Now it can function as a normal mouse, but I really miss the side buttons like my Logitech MX-700 has. I maintain a website and a couple of

Nokia Wireless Internet Tablet - Gray
I bought the N810 a while ago, and have to say that it wasnt the best performance wise, but after upgrading to the new Diablo firmware, i performes oustanding. Videos look and play perfect, and everything else that comes with it. I told my self, if it can play videos at full screen, with no lag, then it should be able to handle everything else, and it really does. I didnt like the fact that you have to pay to install and run the gps software, and also it didnt come with a screen protector. HAd to get them separate. I have no problems with the word imput methods, which are the on screen keyboard, and the slide keyboard. Over all i gave it the highest rating because for people like me it serves its purpose, like video playback, music, high res pictures, internet, and all the apps that come with it, which are seriously useful for the mobile life.

Palm TX Handheld PDA Open Box (Refurb)-CO
The Palm TX is Palm's new wireless handheld. It features a improved 320 x 480 pixel screen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless and 128MB of nonvolatile memory. The TX adds Wi-Fi at a very competitive price.

Palm has announced a new partnership with Microsoft, so the Palm TX may have the last Palm OS version that there will ever be. The Palm TX crams a lot of useful features into one tiny device that will many any gadget lover drool. In the Palm TX, they were able to fit Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity into one gadget, which is rare for Palm. It's a pretty well-rounded little PDA, but how does it all come together? Let's take a look...

At first glance, you may mistaken the Palm TX for PalmOne's earlier Tungsten T5 due to it's design. The traditional silver case is replaced with a sleek bluish-gray case. The Palm TX is quite compact too, measuring only 5 x 3 x 0.5-inches and weighs about 5 ounces, which is very pocket-friendly. Text and images are quite sharp and brilliant on the Palm TX's 4-inch

Canon Flatbed Scanner with Charge-Coupled Device (CCD)
I bought this scanner to scan 35mm slides, and while I have been pleased with the scanned results, I get quite frustrated during the scanning process because the unit shuts itself off after scanning, so when I get to the part where I should have the option of continuing to scan or to exit, I am forced to exit, save the scans and then turn the unit back on. This slows down the whole process tremendously, primarily because the unit doesn't usually want to turn back on for awhile. Sometimes it takes me 20-30 minutes to get the unit to turn back on. I've got an email into Canon support and hopefully its an easy fix.
